Westchester residents who are US citizens, have applied to Emergency Assistance and been denied or given partial assistance from DSS

Proof of residence, proof of income, Proof of work income or work-based benefits like Social Security Retirement, unemployment and disability insurance, and Veterans benefits. Plus IDs, lease, rent bill, utility bill, and college/training related paperwork (if relevant)

The Bridge Fund provides interest-free loans and grants to help pay off rental arrears and prevent evictions. It conducts advocacy with the DSS to help clients with meritorious cases get emergency rental assistance. It negotiates with landlords to give clients more time to pay or reduce the arrears. It offers information and referrals, budget counseling, money management workshops, food cards and utility assistance grants for those most in need, rent subsidies, and training-related grants for those in community college or vocational training programs.
