SCHOOL DISTRICT LEADER ADVANCED CERTIFICATE | ST. JOSEPH’S UNIVERSITY

Offers students The School District Leader (SDL) Advanced Certificate Program which provides the administrative candidate the theory and practice necessary in the preparation for becoming a School District Leader. The course of study includes educational leadership and administration, educational law, policy and ethics, curriculum and instruction, school business administration, pupil personnel services and two administrative practica, one at the building level and one at the district level. Upon completion of the program, the administrative candidate will have been exposed to the knowledge, skills and dispositions required of school district leaders, thereby providing a strong foundation for taking the NYS SDL certification examination. Sample course offerings include: Educational Leadership: Theory and Practice; Educational Law, Policy and Ethics; School Administration: Theory and Practice; Supervision of Curriculum and Instruction; School Building Leader Internship; The Administrator and Pupil Personnel Services; School District Internship and School Business Administration.
