FRIENDS AND FAMILY SUPPORT GROUP | ASSOCIATION FOR MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS

Self-help support groups for relatives and friends of individuals with mental illness. The groups are professionally led. Group members discuss their feelings, ways of coping, and techniques in dealing with mental illness. Guest speakers will discuss topics such as social services and entitlements, medication management, estate planning, latest research, and various mental health services and programs in the community. Program is recognized by the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Active Parenting program offers free classes for parents of children ages 5-12. Strengthens parenting skills and prevention of child risk-taking behaviors such as drug use, violence, and early sexual activity.
