COMMUNITY OUTREACH SOCIAL ACTION COMMITTEE | DIX HILLS JEWISH CENTER

Holds brief weekly meetings on Sunday mornings at 9:30am. Work is done out in the community and includes: weekly visits to the sick, visits to a homeless shelter where craft activities are done and snacks and books are provided for the children, assembling birthday bags and distributing them to birthday recipients and the Gershwin Nursing home, yearly Chanukah collection of toys and gift cards to be distributed to those in need, rescue mission where gently used coats, blankets, umbrellas, clothing etc. are distributed to families in need, offers homework help twice a week to children in homeless shelters, crocheted and fleece blankets distributed to patients in hospitals, and many more projects.
