NYS Ombudsman Program | NORTH COUNTRY CENTER FOR INDEPENDENCE

The New York Ombudsman Program provides free, confidential advocacy for individuals who receive, or need, long term care services. Ombudsmen help people understand their rights, resolve complaints, and navigate issues related to managed long term care, nursing homes, assisted living, and home and community based services. The program works to ensure that consumer voices are heard and that services are delivered fairly, safely, and in accordance with state and federal regulations.
