Caregiver Support Services | Schenectady County Department of Senior and Long Term Care Services

Caregiver Support Services provides essential information, assistance, counseling, training and respite. The program for family caregivers helps sustain their efforts to care for an older relative who has a chronic illness or disability to help the older relative remain in the community rather than be placed in a residential facility. For grandparents and relative caregivers of children, the program will promote retention of these children in a nurturing family environment, instead of placement in foster care.
