Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) - GCDSS

Individuals or families who work for low wages, work part-time or are unemployed; receive TANF or Safety Net; are elderly or disabled and have a limited income; or are homeless or in a shelter for domestic violence. For income guidelines, see https://otda.ny.gov/programs/snap/#eligibility Clients who are disabled, over 60 years of age, or paying for child care may have higher gross income than is specified in the guidelines linked above and still qualify. Applications may be submitted by mail, in-person, or online. Call for an appointment. A face-to-face or phone interview with client or client's authorized representative is required. Must complete application and provide proof of income, expenses, identification (birth certificate, driver's license or other proof of identity), social security cards for all eligible household members, including children, proof of residence (rent receipt or lease agreement, or for homeowners, mortgage, taxes, and insurance). If living with another individual or family, or renting a room from someone with whom client does not purchase and prepare, must provide a written statement of expenses from them.
