Serves as a detention center for pre-trial felony or misdemeanor defendants and those convicted of misdemeanors or violations in county or town courts. Occasionally houses inmates from other counties or for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the United States Border Patrol, and the United States Marshals Service.
Correctional Services, under the direct supervision of the Jail Superintendent, is responsible for the safe and secure operation of the Orleans County Jail.
