Facilities that store petroleum products in tank systems regulated under Article XV of the Nassau County Public Health Ordinance (NCPHO) must register such tanks with the Nassau County Department of Health (NCDOH). Nassau County is committed to protecting our groundwater from petroleum contamination. The proper closure of small underground petroleum tanks, such as heating oil tanks, can reduce that threat.
